The River Walk - San Antonio, Texas

If you've not walked along the San Antonio River in downtown San Antonio,  then consider adding it to your bucket list.

A below street level canopied oasis of cypress trees, lush vegetation all along sidewalks lined with arched bridges, waterfalls,  history, shops and restaurants.

The gang lined up across one of many bridges for a picture.

Jack seems really ready for a pint.

We piled into a river cruise boat and off we went.

On cruise boat approaching  Riverwalk Center.  The Alamo is just the other side of this mall.

Statue of Saint Anthony with baby Jesus. If you've lost something this is the Saint you'd  call upon.

Mayan Aztec Statue

Coming Home To Brisco.
At 3 tons, this is the largest bronze statue in the world.

This wall holds five bells, each representing one of five original missions in San Antonio.

Tower of the Americas.
Built for the 1968 Hemisfair, World's Fair. Much like the Seattle Needle but with 950 steps, no elevator.

One of numerous outside dining.

Spring fed waterfall.

A beautiful and friendly senorita stands beckoning patrons to the restaurant.

An interesting view of the Riverwalk through the glasswall of the Riverwalk Center.

Now this was something we all could have gone without seeing.  A good 4-5 foot rat snake slithering through the river.

All in all a beautiful day.  A beautiful place to visit.  Challenging to find the right local for lunch so 4 went to The Yard Arm and 4 to Hooters.

Take care and please come back.
