Big Bend National Park Historic Hot Springs

Rio Grande River.  Mexico to the right.

Centipedes have one pair of legs per body segment and a millipede had two. The was about 6 inches long, just off the parking area near Boquillas trailhead.

We drove out to Big Bend National Park and arrived at the historic Boquillas Hot Springs.  We approached the first tourist resort in what would become Big Bend National Park.

The guest accomodations, long abandoned.

We hiked down the path along the approach to the river where we saw bird nests under the cliffs.

Pictographs along the cliffs.

Dragonfly at the springs.

On the banks of the Rio Grande you can see the walled in hot springs.   This spring is a constant 105 degrees and used daily by visitors.

We head back to Lajitas with a stop in Terlingua to rub elbows with the town citizens.

The bar has a resident ghost that I witnessed just as we were leaving. I asked staff about it and they confirmed it's existence and that his name was George.

Shannon and Gail ordered burritos.  My oh my. I had a delicious salad.  Everyone enjoyed their meal.

We checked out this RV Park.

A little shopping at local gift shop.

Our day is complete.  Full tummies,  good exercise and happy hour after our naps.  Don't forget to come back, ye hear?
